This line of mangrove trees. These sediments and waters.
given to us
at the breaking of
dawn, and of dusk,
Given as stillness
As the one true taste
that can only be held just long enough — beauty,
caressed by one in-breath,
by the grace of light and an aperture in flight.
What the reflection holds
is not the trees
but the asking:
Of what calls us
what arrives
when we breathe with the light.
